Investerade i en ny Sauer 303 i 30-06 strax innan jul. Det är en jättetrevlig bössa på alla sätt och vis, även om jag inte har skjutit några större mängder med den ännu pga kylan.

I dag fick jag ett samtal från Torsbo och dom sa att jag skulle komma in med bössan så fort som möjligt eftersom Sauer hade upptäckt att det var ett felaktigt material i slagstiftet och det måste bytas ut.

Känns ju inte så tryggt att ha köpt ett vapen för över 20.000:- som dessutom har funnits på marknaden i ett par år nu och sen få reda på detta.

Trivs som sagt mycket bra med bössan, men har ju inte kunnat testa den ordentligt än. Frågan är om man kan lita på den funktionsmässigt. Förtroendet är inte så stort just nu ialla fall.

J. P. Sauer & Sohn voluntarily recalls an isolated number of SAUER 303 semi automatic rifles.

No compromise when safety is the issue – this is the top priority of Sauer & Sohn. Therefore the manufacturer voluntarily decided to recall an isolated number of SAUER 303 semi automatic rifles to the German gun dealers and the exclusive SAUER distributors around the world. At all affected guns the firing pin has to be replaced.

Sauer & Sohn Managing Director Matthias Klotz explains the background: “We cannot exclude that a certain production lot of firing pins from May 2009 contained parts that are longer than allowed. If this should be the case and such a firing pin is assembled it theoretically may happen that the firing pin can hit the primer and fire the cartridge even if the gun should not be locked completely.”

Due to the complete documentation SAUER exactly could detect the serial numbers that potentially might be affected. Matthias Klotz: „All our international SAUER representatives who received such serial numbers are already informed. So together with the gun dealers they will be able to directly address the hunters who own the rifles and finally secure a fluent realization of the recall.”

To make sure that all owners of a SAUER 303 immediately can check their serial number please find below the list of all potentially affected guns worldwide. “If you find your serial number in this list please do not use the gun any more and immediately contact your gun dealer from who you bought the rifle. He then will get in touch with our national SAUER distributor who organizes the change of the firing pin”, explains Matthias Klotz.

Sauer & Sohn clearly points out that all other SAUER 303 semi automatic rifles and of course all other SAUER hunting rifles are absolutely safe and not affected by this recall.

For the end customers the change of the firing pin is free of charge. Regarding the effort Matthias Klotz says: „We are sorry for all the inconvenience this recall causes in the mid of the hunting season. But together with our partners we will do our best to solve all issues as fast as possible.”

Med andra ord finns det riskt för att slagstiftet kan vara för långt och att det finns en liten risk för prematur avfyrning innan slutstycket är låst. (vilket skulle vara riktigt tråkigt...)

Men de gör det enda rätta och byter ut samtliga som kan ligga i riskzonen.

Jag tror inte det finns någon risk för resten av bössan.

Borde i teorin betyda att det blir helautomat alltså, kunde ju vara lite häftigt

Skämt å sido så är det väl bra att dom tar sitt ansvar men en hel del förtroendekapital är förbrukat trots allt.

jag tycker trots allt dom är väldigt bra o seriösa med det där! det här är min personliga åsikt o bara min! att dom återkallar en stor mängd vapen för ett fel gör inte för mig att dom förlorar respekt o förtroende utan mer att det växer.

vet om en bil. säger inte hela namnet men modellnamnet börjar på 3 iaf väcker kanske någras hjärna

deras bil för något år sen ( med alla extrautrustning ) när den kom ut var så fullproppad av elektronik att en stor del av bilarna inte änns startade efter någon månad. vet inge mer om det än att fabriken visste om det men tog inte tebax bilarna fasten dom visste om det. där förlorar någon mitt förtroende!!

så all heder åt dom. men det ska ju helst inte behöva hända alls!!
