Publicerat Januari 26, 201214 yr hello swedish hunters, i am a hunter, and also working in train business. the company in which i work has a lot of problems when our train overrun älg in sweden. there is heavy destruction each time, on the älg and on the train. we want to make some test for building better trains, which resist better in heavy impacts, but also finding a solution to alert the älg, before he gets hit by the train, for example whistles, horns, electronic waves and so on. what we need to start our tests here in germany is a älg hut, maybe not a complete one, but lets say, a quarter one of it. we have our company in stockholm, so if somebody in the stockholm area can supply some älg hut, somebody from our company will make contact and take away what you can give. otherwise, if somebody of you can send us directly a parcel, you will be paid in advance for your help. best regards from germany and sorry for sing english language. tack sa mycket ! stefan heinrich
Publicerat Januari 26, 201214 yr Guten abend! I'm not 100% sure what you are asking for, is it a part of the skin or a part of an complete älg. Hence a bit difficult to help. Hut in english is a small cabin or house. (koja) Feel free to write me an PM in German language, I understand it fairly well. By that not saying your english is bad cause it's not, but I don't know what a "hut" is in this context. Hut in German is in english hat or in swedish hatt if I remember right. MFG
Publicerat Januari 26, 201214 yr Furthermore, The problem with mooses, raindeers etc being overruned by trains is often connected to big amounts of snow. The tracks are a passage free of snow and I doubt that a whistle will help you, they just run along the tracks until impact. This is natural, ofcourse it's common sence (for a moose) to try to outrun a threat were it's easiest to run. Not the easiest of tasks you have been given.
Publicerat Januari 26, 201214 yr Författare hello, @MKJ yes, what i need is skin, we want to make some impact tests, and our laboratory needs skin for strech-tests. ah, ok, i understand, i wanted to write HUD. yes, we work together with the railway company, and we have detailed informations about where, how, when, snow, rain.... and we have the dammage also. interesting details, as your trains go on the left side, more impacts are on the left, meaning, the älg is nearly gone aside, but to slow. thats where we want to start, he knows at one point " there is a problem behind me " but he is reacting to slow then. i have seen älg in sweden, so i know how they think. best regards, stefan
Publicerat Januari 26, 201214 yr I guess your employer could be Siemens? Yeah, when the älg finally realises he can't outrun the train, it's too late. The snow walls around the track are often 1,5-2 meters high. Perhaps some way of ploughing wider than the actual track itself could be a path forward? By that giving more escape room for the moose?
Publicerat Januari 26, 201214 yr Författare quite nearly.... its ALSTOM. we have trains running for SJ, SL and some other swedish compnies. could be an idea, ploughing the tracks wider. customer will not be lucky !
Publicerat Januari 26, 201214 yr quite nearly.... its ALSTOM. we have trains running for SJ, SL and some other swedish compnies. could be an idea, ploughing the tracks wider. customer will not be lucky ! SJ=State property, money should not be an issue since it will also spare our beloved wolfes that also occasionally get killed by trains! Back in the old days the plough in front of the locomotivs were all a lot wider than the tracks, today that is replaced by speed. The combo of these two factors kills many mooses.
